MR Blueprint is a mixed reality physics simulator for the Meta Quest 3 that lets you create objects and draw their physics into existence. Using the MX Ink stylus, users can add simple objects from the content browser and sketch lines, circles, and many more to create physics interactions like springs, hinges, and impulses. By enabling the simulation, players can see them come to life with custom gravity, collisions, friction values, and so much more, turning their environment into an interactive playground for learning and experimentation.

Development Process
We built MR Blueprint during the DevStudio 2026 Hackathon organized by Logitech, working within a compressed timeline to integrate hardware and software seamlessly. The core challenge was bridging the MX Ink stylus input with Unity's physics engine while maintaining responsive, real-time performance in mixed reality. We focused on creating an intuitive feeling of "drawing physics" that felt natural and immediately rewarding to users, making complex physics concepts accessible and fun to explore.
Key Takeaways
Hardware Integration Unlocks New Design Possibilities - The MX Ink stylus opened entirely new interaction patterns that traditional controllers couldn't achieve, forcing us to rethink how players interact with physics.
Mixed Reality Changes the Educational Experience - Seeing physics simulate in your actual environment, rather than a contained screen, creates a deeper understanding and more memorable learning moment.
Rapid Prototyping Under Pressure - Hackathons demand prioritization; we focused on core feel and functionality over feature completeness, which actually resulted in a more cohesive experience.
Semi-Finalist Recognition - Being selected as a semi-finalist validated our concept and approach, showing that blending accessibility with technical depth resonates with judges and users alike.
Grand Winner Recognition - Winning a separate hackathon reinforced that our idea had strong real-world appeal, proving that playful, hands-on interaction can stand out in competitive tech spaces.
